July 20 - Day 75 - Ste Anne des Monts - 92.8 km

Tarte au sucre - sugar pie…so yummy

Interesting clouds.

Resting spot

I took several photos, but the sky and water are the same colour!  But I guess the same is true when the sky is blue and the water is blue!

My first resting spot today

What a difference a day makes 😀. I got up this morning and packed up.  On my way to breakfast there was a little sprinkle of rain.  Then a bit more as I headed off, but it was short lived.

I had a stop for snacks and to take a few photos after about an hour of riding.  About half way through the day it started to rain…not a downpour, but quite a steady rain.  I stopped a few times for shelter and to check on the weather app to see how long the rain was going to last.  Today is more challenging with the hills.  Good training to get my mountain legs back before the really big hills day after tomorrow.

Around 2pm I stopped for lunch and to warm up at a restaurant close to Ste Anne des Monts.  I stopped for long enough that it stopped raining and the road dried off too….yeah!  It should be a fairly comfortable ride for the last 14 km.  My clothes were drying out, and I was contemplating removing my jacket to dry off my shirts.  Just as I was thinking this….a heavy downpour ☹️. I was soaked when I checked into the motel.

Once in my room I set to work…removing my bags…washing everything to get all the grit and grime off, then placed my bike into the shower to hose it off.  Now everything is strewn about the room to dry off before morning.

Tomorrow is about the same length in distance, with a few more hills.  Nothing too bad.

I’m curious Lucille if you’re cutting through Gaspé or circumnavigating and getting to Roche Percé. Much further I’d think. Loving your adventure and pics. Is your French cutting the mustard? Hope you have a dry day.

Looks like wonderful views. I am still wondering if it is salt water or fresh? I admire your spirit of keeping to it. I think I would not be as cheery with the the rain and grey. Keep it up and as the guy on the corner with the sign would say “the end is near” and I would add so have a beer.
