Our last full day in New Zealand. We slept in ….enjoying the massive room in the amazing old hotel we stayed in. We finally got packed up and headed downstairs with our plan to have breakfast up the road, but when I got downstairs and saw the roaring fire I decided to have my birthday breakfast by the fire!!!!
A nice twisty road to Christchurch where we picked up a bike box and packed up my bike. We had to take the headrests off to fit the bike box in…and advance our seats, but we managed to get everything in the rental car…including ourselves!!! Not pretty or comfortable…but it’s working.
A last dinner at our fav Thai restaurant just next door to our hotel. Then off for a visit with Jean and Sheralee, such a nice evening. Sheralee leaves in a week for her own bike packing trip through Europe. Nice to see and compare bike setups. And Jean showed us pictures of him paragliding today….so much fun with good friends.
