Namche Bazaar is the largest town in the Khumbu, with many hotels, restaurants and shops its the perfect place to spend an extra day to acclimatize on the hike to Everest basecamp. The town is built into the surrounding hillside and a semi-circular pattern. At the base of the town is a large payer wheel that is turned by the force of the river.

Reminds me of the traffic jam I encountered in Vietnam... that ended with running over a chicken with my motorbike! those little buggers are slippery!

Thanks so much for sharing with us. My sister spent a year in Bhutan and we lived it with her through her blog. So interesting to see through your eyes - the physical demands, the terrain and the people. Amazing. I'll be following!!
